Do you need a Certified or Uncertified Record?
Certified Records
Most people need Certified Records.
These are official paper copies with a raised seal, and are required for most legal transactions. For example, pension requests, estate settlements, MVA requests, court appearances, citizenship/dual citizenship, apostilles, etc.
If you are unsure of any information about the record (i.e. dates, names, counties, etc.), use the Certified Record order form.
Uncertified Records
These are mainly for genealogists. Genealogists are required to provide
all requested information
about the record. We will send the record electronically. An uncertified record is considered an "unofficial" copy of a record.
Use the death indexes to look up the required information
, otherwise use the Certified Record order form.
Fees
The non-refundable and non-transferable fee is $25.00 per certified record and $5.00 per uncertified record.
Fee breakdown
The $25.00 fee for a certified copy includes searching for the record using the information you provide, and sending you one (1) certified paper copy through U.S. Mail.
The $5.00 fee for an uncertified copy includes sending one (1) PDF to the email address that you provide.
You will
not be refunded
if you do not provide the required information for uncertified record requests, or if your certified record is not found.
